Surface Technology
Surface treatment for protection, function and downstream processing
Our surface technology complements machining and welding with functional and protective treatments. Depending on the component, material and application requirements, we use blasting, coating, hard chrome plating, nitriding or heat treatment. This provides the basis for corrosion protection, wear performance, surface quality and application-specific downstream processing.
Sandblasting
Manual sandblasting
A blasting cabinet is available for manual blasting operations. It handles material formats up to 3,800 mm in width, 4,000 mm in height and 12,000 mm in length.
Continuous feed blasting system
For continuous blasting processes, a SCHLICK-ROTO-JET Rotojet roller conveyor blasting system is used. Maximum material formats are 2,500 mm in width, 500 mm in height and 12,000 mm in length. (schwing-auftragsfertigung.at
Priming / Painting
Painting booths with forced drying are available for coating operations. Components with maximum dimensions of 5,600 mm in width, 5,000 mm in height and 17,000 mm in length can be processed.
Chrome plating (hard chrome)
A hard chrome plating system for multilayer chrome plating is available for both internal and external hard chrome applications. The system is certified to RAL 6011 at the highest quality level. The maximum chrome length is 2,500 mm, with a maximum diameter of 300 mm. The SELECTRON chrome repair process is also available.
Nitriding
A CAMLAW nitriding furnace is used for nitriding-related heat treatment. The available processes are gas nitriding and gas nitrocarburising followed by oxidation. The furnace size is 900 x 900 x 1,300 mm.
Heat treatment / Annealing
An electrically heated shaft furnace with air circulation, LSU 100/200, is available for annealing operations. The maximum annealing temperature is 750 °C, and maximum component dimensions are 2,000 mm in length and 1,000 mm in diameter.
